Church Option
Letter to Churches

To: Bishops, Pastors, Elders, Youth Ministers, Laymen, etc.
Today, we face a grave problem of which I am sure you are keenly aware — the pervasive nature of internet pornography. Because of its anonymity and ease of access, every family in your congregation is at risk of being affected, or infected, by this cancer that according to a July 2005, Culture Project report has now spread to over 420 million pornographic web pages. The same report reveals that the largest group of viewers of internet pornography is not the stereotypical adult male (also a big problem) but youth from 12-17 years of age, and most parents do not have a clue.
Matthew 6:24—“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. …” Pornography allows only one master. The Church’s mission is made exceedingly more difficult because of internet pornography. This booklet can assist you in safeguarding families from this evil.
I ask that you consider making this booklet available to the moms and dads in your congregation. Short and concise, it explains the severity of the problem and gives specific recommendations. Combined with the Kid Safe Cyberspace web site, parents have the resources needed to understand computer filtering systems, parental controls, the dangers of “chat rooms,” and much more.
In today’s world, raising healthy and happy children is difficult, but one thing is for sure, if pornography gets its claws into mom, dad, the kids or teens, the family gets ripped apart. However, there are ways to prevent this from happening, and saving families is what this booklet is all about.
Elsewhere on this web site, the booklets are priced at $2.50 for a single copy. I offer churches a special rate, with a minimum order of only 100 booklets, ranging from $.79 down to $.39 per copy, depending on order size (includes shipping and handling). See the “Churches and Schools Only” order form for all the details.
Consider preaching about the problem and then pass out the booklets to parents and grandparents; put them in your literature racks; make them available through your web site. As you can see, this is an easy and an inexpensive way to help the families you shepherd
